Merry Christmas!

Overall Steve and I had a very nice Christmas. We were supposed to visit George the weekend of the blizzard, but because of all the snow we weren’t able to get down there and the prison canceled the visits. That was a bummer, but we planned to go see him after the New Year so that was good. We were all disappointed, but when we saw how much snow we got it totally made sense.

Steve and I had a nice Christmas morning just the two of us (and Buddy!). We opened presents by our tree and we got some good stuff! We didn’t go overboard this year, but we were both excited about what we got. After we that we went upstairs for breakfast. I decided I really wanted French toast so I made that for everyone. It was yummy if I do say so myself (and I do!). Steve made bacon and eggs to go along with breakfast. It was nice to have a family breakfast on Christmas since that’s what we always used to do as kids. After that we gave Pete his Christmas presents and he really enjoyed them. Margot got him a thing that lets you burn your records onto CDs (and it is also a functioning record player). I think it’s the coolest thing. After presents, we threw on a record and cleaned up from breakfast and presents.

Steve and I got ready and headed over to my parents. We had planned on getting there a little before my aunt so that my parents and us could exchange our gifts and have our own “Christmas morning.” Well, my aunt, who is never on time BEAT US to my parents. Everyone was shocked. I was expecting a Christmas blizzard after that! The whole gang of us opened presents and talked while dinner was being made. We had a yummy dinner and I even tried something new (#36)! We made green bean casserole for the first time and I had some and it was yummy. I think I’m going to have to make sure we always have that.

Steve and I even took our good picture for the month (#3) at Christmas. Margot took our picture in front of our tree for us. I think it’s cute and I’m really excited that next Christmas we can take a picture in front of our tree in our house!

#3 - Take a good picture of us

I really like doing this. I realize we aren't changing much from month to month, but it'll be nice to have a good picture of us from each month for my list so we can see the progression throughout the almost 3 years that this list covers.
