Pregnancy Update: Week 36

How Far Along:  36 weeks. That means there are only 4 weeks left. FOUR. Or 28 days. That is not a lot of time. NOT AT ALL.

Size of baby: SIZE OF A WATERMELON. A Watermelon. That's not small at all. Still measuring between 19 and 22 inches, but her weight could be up to about 6.5 pounds (which would be about what I weighed at birth)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: It's pretty safe to assume that I'm up exactly the number of weeks I am. Because that would be the rate I have been going up until this point and I'm supposed to be gaining a pound a week so there's that.

Maternity Clothes: Why yes, yes I am. And I’m still wearing some regular clothes (a couple pair of jeans with my BeBand and some regular shirts as long as they’re long enough and not too tight cause I don’t want to stretch them out)

Gender: BABY GIRL!!

Movement: She is certainly active. And right now her movements are actually hurting me. I don't know if it's a foot or an elbow but she is getting some jabs in for sure.

Sleep: I'm definitely more tired lately so I go to bed earlier but I'm not sleeping solidly because of all the  getting up to pee so I don't wake up feeling rested or anything.

What I miss: I miss not being so sore and sleeping well. And since it's getting cold I miss not being able to really bend over to put on shoes.

Cravings: I still pretty much just crave Oreo's on a regular (daily!) basis. Other than that I don't (and really haven't) had any strong cravings.

Aversions: Nothing really, I'm feeling pretty good.

Symptoms: I'm sore - mostly in my hips and I think that's from sleeping on them. I feel large. I can't see my feet. I can't bend over and I don't really move with grace or ease these days. It's hard to get up off the couch. My feet and fingers are a little on the swollen side and they kind of hurt a bit so that's not fun. And I still have that weird random half asleep feeling in my feet so that's weird too. And lately my hands have been falling asleep at night. Basically, I'm definitely pregnant!!

Labor Signs: Nope. I don't even really have a lot of Braxton Hicks these days, but I stay really hydrated so I don't know if one has anything to do with the other.

Belly Button in or out: OUT!

Wedding rings on or off: Definitely off at this point.

Best moment this week: Our family friend finished Sydney's mural and it looks SO GOOD! My parents & brother came over this weekend and it was nice to spend some quality family time, lunch, and a little shopping with Mom while we dragged the boys with us. I also did some shopping for myself - nothing super fancy, just some nursing tanks and bras and some pajamas for after delivery but it was really nice just to buy something for myself. And with all of that I am now all packed for the hospital for both myself and for Sydney.

Looking forward to: Doing the last finishing touches to the nursery - some cleaning and hanging of the mirror over the dresser and it'll be all ready for her. Also just finishing up the last of the things I want to get done around the house between now and whenever she decides to show up.

  1. You look great! I know you're probably tired and just ready to be done but I had to say that.

Does Sydney's movement at night keep you up or wake you up at all or is it something you can sleep through?

    1. Thanks! I feel good, but I definitely feel huge lol!!

She does move a lot at night, according to Steve because he says that's when he feels her most. It doesn't bother me though and even when I'm awake and trying to fall asleep it doesn't keep me up. I'm not sure if that's because I'm just so used to her movements by now or what but it is nice to have one less thing keeping me up at night for now cause I get up plenty to pee! haha
