Pregnancy Update: Week 38

How Far Along: 38 weeks! 2 weeks to go!

Size of baby: Still the size of a watermelon. Measuring anywhere between 19 and 22 inches and weighing around 6.5lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m up a lot more than I expected to gain that’s for sure. People are surprised when I tell them its 42 pounds and they say I look great – that makes me feel good. It’s the people that constantly call me the fat pregnant lady that really hurt my feelings.

Maternity Clothes: You betcha though since it’s gotten colder and I don’t have any long sleeve maternity shirts I’m wearing regular shirts and hoping I’m not stretching them out.

Gender: BABY GIRL!!

Movement: She’s still a really active baby and she’s actually found this one spot that she loves to push her foot out which kind of hurts and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m bruised on the inside right there. It’s also really kind of neat to see her movements because her feet/arms actually stick out since she’s bigger and stronger now.

Sleep: It’s getting worse and worse because my hips are achy and I get up to pee a lot but I do still sleep and I get a nap in every afternoon.

What I miss: I miss my feet being of normal size… they’re a tad on the swollen size! And I miss not really hurting all over but at this point I think it’s really just safe to say I miss not being pregnant.

Cravings: I’m still in love with my Oreo’s!

Aversions: Nothing anymore. Symptoms: Heartburn, swollen feet, achy body, no sleep, sore hips in the morning, and weird numbness in the tips of 3 fingers on my right hand (seriously, that one takes the cake as weirdest pregnancy symptom!)

Labor Signs: Nope. Not a single contraction and really very few Braxton Hicks contractions even. I would even venture to guess I still have my mucous plug because I haven’t had any contractions so I’m probably not dilated at all.

Belly Button in or out: Out! Out! Out!

Wedding rings on or off: Off… and I miss them!

Best moment this week: We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend with some friends and their kids and that was a lot of fun (and walking!). I can’t wait until next year when we’ve got a little one of our own to do that kind of stuff with.

Looking forward to: Even though I’m crazy anxious and nervous I’m definitely looking forward to meeting our baby girl soon!

    1. yeah someone actually called me that... and to make it worse she's family. AND she laughed about it like it was supposed to be some kind of joke but I certainly wasn't laughing. Some people just don't give a shit that their words might actually hurt someone's feelings.
